Who owns and operates Samaritan Village?
Samaritan Village is a 501c3 non profit corporation with its own board of directors.
How is Samaritan Village Different from other senior complexes?
Samaritan Village is unique to this area in that it provides many on-site amenities unlike any other, while giving seniors an environment where they can continue to live independently, yet feel safe and secure in a social atmosphere.
I understand this is not a buy-in-life-care community, but besides the listed amenities, what is included in my monthly rent fee for independent living?

Do you have a waiting list? If so, how do I sign up?
Brand new apartments are currently available in Independent Living and we would love to have you join our community. Please contact us TODAY at (209) 883-3000.
There is currently a waiting list for assisted living, to add your name to our waiting list or to reserve an assisted living room, call the Marketing Department of Samaritan Village at (209) 883-3000.
Do I have to use the 45 meals or can I receive credit for those I don't use?
The 45 meals are included in the monthly fee, whether or not you choose to use all 45 meals each month. You do not receive a credit for unused meals, but you may purchase additional meals if you choose.
This sounds great, but what if I can no longer live independently, but do not need nursing care?
You may still enjoy all the amenities, but by moving into Country Manor, our assisted living facility, on the same twenty acre campus; trained, caring employees will provide 24-hour, non-medical care, assistance and monitoring. There are two units staffed with skilled resident assistants who are specially trained to care for those with Alzheimer's disease and other related Dementias.
How old do I have to be to move in?
Our residents must be 60 to move into our senior community.
What kinds of activities are available?
Samaritan Village offers a variety of physicial, social and intellectual activities for both our independent living and assisted living residents.
What kind of transportation services do you offer?
For Independent Living, our bus driver provides transportation to and from doctor, dental and shopping appointments four days a week to Modesto in the morning and Turlock in the afternoon. The fifth weekday is reserved for special outings. For Assisted Lliving, a part-time driver is available, but families are encouraged to assist with providing this transportation.
Are pets allowed?
We allow senior-friendly small cats or dogs (currently one per apartment) under 30 pounds, with a one-time deposit of $300.
I hear you have a Hospice House on campus, who is that for?
The Alexander Cohen Hospice House provides 24-hour nursing care for the terminally ill patients of Community Hospice. This is the only freestanding hospice care facility in the county. The 16-bed facility features private rooms along with other home-like amenities for patients with a terminal prognosis with symptom management issues or caregiver needs.
